Police: Paglaum plebiscite peaceful

THE plebiscite for the ratification of the creation of Barangay Paglaum was generally peaceful and no major incidents were reported, the police said Sunday.

Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ordaniel, acting police director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said about 60 policemen were deployed in Barangay Mansilingan to ensure peace and order for the plebiscite.

A 44-year old man was arrested during the implementation of liquor ban in Barangay Mansilingan on Saturday.

Police Station 7 (PS7) personnel apprehended suspect Glen de Guzman along Murcia Road, Barangay Mansilingan at around 12:18 a.m. Saturday.

Senior Inspector Jose Mulleta of PS7 said the suspect was arrested inside the Merilyn’s Bar for creating alarm and scandal when the owner of the bar refused to give him liquor.

Mulleta said the suspect is now detained at their station. (MAP)
