POLICE are hunting down the suspects who killed a laborer on Durian Street at Purok-4 in Barangay Tugbok Proper in Davao City.
The victim was identified as Ricky Talastas Valencia, 32, a maintenance of Deca Homes Subdivision, who hails from Samal Bataan and transient resident of Phase 5 Block 87 Lot 10 of the same subdivision.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Tugbok police, the incident happened around 2 p.m. at Purok 4 on Durian Street in front of a cemetery.
According to the witness, the victim was walking on his way home when one Honda Wave motorcycle bound from Upper Tugbok approached him. The suspects asked direction in going to Sitio Naming but subsequently shot the victim.
The victim succumbed to several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. His body was brought to Angel Funeral Homes.
Puno said it was learned that the female witness, who is married, and the victim were having a secret relationship. He added personal grudge between the family of the witness against the victim may be a motive behind the killing.
The police also believed that the suspects used a caliber.38 revolver based on examination of the Scene of the Crime Operative. The police have yet to release the names of the gunmen.
