CHARGES were filed before the City Prosecutor's Office of Davao against a man who robbed his employer's pizza store at corner Illustre and Camus streets in Davao City on Monday.

Facing robbery charges is Ronald Bagohin Talaugon, 25, and a resident of Matina. Talaugon was charged after stealing from his employer Dr. Joritta Adarna Roque, a 50-year-old dentist and owner of a Dexter's Pizza branch.

Investigation by Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Ronilo Tirasol and PO3 Julieto Honor of San Pedro police revealed that the incident happened at around 10 a.m. Roque discovered that the money worth P5,000 from the cash register was already missing. When she checked the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, she saw the suspect crawling inside the counter. From there, the respondent used the key to the cash register and stole the money.

Roque initially was not able to identify the suspect in the CCTV footage as the suspect was wearing a jacket with hood. This prompted police officers to collect fingerprints from the cash register and was able to match the fingerprints of Talaugon who was not authorized to enter the cashier's counter.

Police then conducted an operation which resulted to the apprehension of the suspect at the house of his mother in Baranagay Cabantian, Buhangin. Recovered from his possession is the cash which he stole from the pizza store.

Talaugon is currently detained at the San Pedro Police Station. (Ruji Peter S. Abat/Sun.Star Davao)
