CEBU -- Thousands of people from all walks of life trooped to the streets in Cebu City on Sunday, January 19, for the annual Sinulog grand parade.
The grand parade started around 10:30 a.m. and ended with a grand finale held at the Cebu City Sports Center around 8:30 p.m.
About 130 groups and individuals participated in this year’s street dancing, with seven out-of-town contingents competing for the Sinulog-based and Free Interpretation categories.
Aside from these dancing contingents, 41 organizations and companies have showcased their floats, some with celebrities onboard, like the MLhuillier, whose float carried Ogie Alcasid and Empress Schuck.
Cebuana and ABS-CBN Kapamilya actress Kim Chui also joined the celebration onboard Titay's Rosquillos’ float. Other celebrities seen along the parade route were GMA Kapuso stars Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado and Yasmien Kurdi, the Philippine Volcanoes, and Pinoy Big Brother housemate Princess Manzon, among others.
Also among the attractions in Sunday’s grand parade were the 31 higantes and 22 puppeteers.
