Canadians in awe with Ilonggo hospitality

MORE than 200 businessmen from Canada and other Philippine investors are in awe of what the Ilonggos have and offer to them.

The Canadian delegation composed of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, career and honorary Philippine Consulates-General and businessmen from Toronto, Ottawa, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, Alberta and other places in Canada are in this southern city from January 20 to 23, 2014 during the Winter Escapade-Its more fun in the Philippines (WE-IMF Ph) tour.

Philippine Ambassador Leslie Gatan to Canada gave a positive response to the challenges to invest in the countryside hurled by Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, Governor Arthur Defensor, and Guimaras Governor Samuel Gumarin.

The delegation also represented five local government alliances in the country namely the Metro Naga Development Council, Panglao-Dauis-Baclayon Bohol Marine Triangle Inc., Metro Iloilo Guimaras Economic Development Council, Province of Leyte and Allah Valley Landscape Development Alliance proposed project sites to match with prospective investors..

The investment fair matching encounter between the Canadians and members of the Iloilo Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held January 21 at the Royal Gardens Hall along Gen. Luna St. in the city proper of Iloilo.

The fair is expected to showcase investment opportunities in Iloilo, Metro Naga, Bohol, Allah Valley, Guimaras and Leyte to match the Canadian investor for possible invest opportunities in this part of the country.
