Gueco: City of Mabalacat

BILLED as the forthcoming “Makati of the North”, the City of Mabalacat stands tall on the path of progress and prosperity. Rising up from the balacat (first-class timberland) terra firma, the City of Mabalacat has metamorphosed into a bustling city hub.

Like Makati which was created by Joseph R. McMicking and the Ayala clan, it seeks to become the financial center in Pampanga.

Thereon, we see that Makati has the highest concentration of multinational and local corporations in the country. Major banks, corporations, department stores as well as foreign embassies are based in Makati. The biggest trading floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange is situated along the city's Ayala Avenue. With a population of 529,039, Makati is the 16th-largest city in the country and ranked as the ’Paris in Asia’.

Envisioning the City of Mabalacat to reach the heights of unmatched urbane growth, Mayor Boking Morales overviews the telescope of its empowerment.

Moving his countrymen/women to attain the summum bonum (highest good) way of living, he is a profile of compassion and candor. Thereon, let us count the ways he gives his legacy of service to his kabalens (city mates).

Firstly, steering the wheels of a thriving business cycle.

Charismatic leader Mayor Morales underscores these insights:

We are heartened by the support from the dynamic men and women of our city. Foreseeing it to become the ‘Makati of the North’, we will soar high to the peak of unparalleled growth. Crisscrossing our city gates are the bustling industries, trading enclaves and business core centers.

Our urban pivotal site is continuously intensifying its trade and commerce activities. Playing a major role in the development of the Clark International Airport; we walk in stride with its zooming aviation dynamism.

Thus, I see the financial incentives filtering to every barangay, purok and family home.”

Secondly, caring spiritual values.

As you and I realize, spirituality is the "elan vital" or vital energy to our being. It has a different meaning to everyone across the four corners of the globe. Journeying to the sanctum of sacredness and depending on their beliefs, people may go to a chapel, church, kingdom hall to worship Our Lord and offer thanksgiving.

Mayor Boking states, "We often visit the Shrine of Manaoag in Pangasinan. Easing our hearts and blessing our spirits, we are enlightened by its spiritual message of peace and sacred devotion. May the Lord always enlighten us and bless our kabalens (city mates) as we unlock the gateway of our city."

Kudos to all the citizens and leaders of the City of Mabalacat.

In sum, you and I are one. We are benevolent Filipinos who love our country and city.

Proud to be a Filipina.....Kapampangan... son/daughter of the City of Mabalacat.
