11 Western Visayas festivals join Kasadyahan

THE best of Western Visayas festivals presented their performance in Saturday’s showcase of Kasadyahan Festival as part of the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City.

The performers, who come from different provinces in Western Visayas Region, brought their dancers, musicians and propsmen to this city to vie for honor and recognition in the Dinagyang Festival.

Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog lauded the participation of the 11 Kasadyahan tribes and said that Dinagyang is a way of life of the Ilonggos to become one and present their best performance to the world.

The winner in the Kasadyahan regional cultural showcase will bring home the P150,000 cash prize.

The contenders are the Bacolod Masskara Festival from Bacolod City, Saad Festival from the municipality of Leganes, Iloilo, Manggahan Festival of Guimaras, Tribu Hugyaw Kansilay of Silay City, Negros Occidental, Tribu Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School in Iloilo City, Sinadya sa Halaran Festival of Roxas City, Capiz, Hugyaw Tribe of St. Therese MTC College of Iloilo City, Kalibo Sto Niño Ati-atihan Festival of Kalibo, Aklan, Tribu Banigan of Libertad, Antique, Tribu Panublion of the Professional Electronic Institute in Iloilo City, and Pinta Flores of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental.
