1 killed, 3 unscathed in gun attack

ONE person was killed while three others escaped unscathed in an early morning gun attack in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police report Saturday.

Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Ariel Huesca said the incident happened around 7 a.m. Friday along General Luna Street in the village of Estaka, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte province.

Chief Inspector Huesca identified the victim as Giovanni Dalman, 43, who sustained a bullet wound in the head.

Dalman died before reaching Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center.

Unscathed were Dalman’s wife and two sons whose identities were not indicated in the report of the Zamboanga del Norte Police Office, Huesca said.

Investigation showed the victim was driving the family-owned vehicle, fetching his two sons to the school and his wife to the office where she works, when shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman.

An empty shell of caliber .45 pistol was recovered at the crime scene, he said.

Investigation continues in a bid to unmask the perpetrator, he added. (Bong Garcia)
