P2.1-M shabu seized in Guagua town

SAN FERNANDO - Methamphetamine or shabu amounting to P2.1 million were confiscated by operatives of Pampanga Police in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pulong Masle, Guagua town on Saturday.

Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, Pampanga police provincial director, said during two suspected drug pushers -- Patricio Lim, 41 alias “Pat,” a resident of Barangay Tacondom and Allan Adriano, 45 alias “Tom,” of Barangay Pulong Masle -- were arrested in the anti-drug operation.

The third suspect Walter Santos, alias “Whisky,” was able to escape, Albayalde said.

Lim and Adrinao reportedly yielded one sachet containing shabu weighing 300 grams with an estimated street value of P2.1 million.

Improvised glass pipe containing shabu residue, foil, a caliber .45 hand gun with six bullets and three pieces of P1,000 marked money were also confiscated from the suspect, according to Albayalde.

He said that arrest of the suspects was a result of a month-long surveillance.

Albayalde lauded the Santa Rita police for assisting the Pampanga Intelligence Branch and Illegal drug task force during the operation.

The pieces of evidence were turn-over to the Police Crime Laboratory 3 in Camp Olivas while the suspects are now detained at the office of Provincial Intelligence Branch.

Early last year, the Pampanga police also confiscated P162 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation inside the Lakeshore Subdivision in Mexico, Pampanga, where a Taiwanese national was arrested.

Albayalde encouraged members of the Pampanga Police to continue with their campaign to make the province drug-free. (Ric Sapnu)
