BCPO seizes most loose guns in W. Visayas

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) led by Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel received an award for garnering the highest percentage of positive operations against loose firearms among the seven city and provincial police offices in Western Visayas region.

The awarding rites was held at the Police Regional Office 6 headquarters at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City Monday.

Supt. Jefferson Descallar, deputy for operation of BCPO, said that in 2013, BCPO confiscated 76 firearms, 15 of which are high-powered firearms while 61 are low-powered.

Descallar added that the BCPO was also awarded for having the highest percentage of arrested wanted persons based on the total number for each city or provincial police office.

In 2013, out of 525 arrest warrants released, BCPO apprehended 369 suspects in different areas of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

Ordaniel received the award from police regional director, Chief Supt. Josephus Angan.

Descallar said that the BCPO received the award based on the leadership of Ordaniel and the cooperation of the local government unit and the BCPO personnel.

Through this award, the police believe they have delivered service to the public, he said.

Descallar assured the Bacolodnons that they will double their efforts to maintain peace and order in the city.
