VICE President Jejomar Binay garnered a "very good" rating in the 2013 fourth quarter survey of poll firm Social Weather Station (SWS) released Monday.
The SWS, however, noted that satisfaction scores of other top government officials and institutions slightly dropped in the same survey.
The survey showed that 75 percent of the respondents were satisfied with the Vice President's performance, while 13 percent were dissatisfied, or a net satisfaction rating of +62.
The SWS said Binay scored +62 net satisfaction rating in its December 11 to 16, 2013 survey.
SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings as follows: +70 and above, "excellent"; +50 to +69, "very good"; +30 to +49, "good"; +10 to +29, "moderate"; +9 to -9, "neutral"; -10 to -29, "poor"; -30 to -49, "bad"; -50 to -69, "very bad"; and -70 and below, "execrable."
The poll firm said this is the seventh "very good" rating for the Vice President since 2010, with SWS also noting that he scored seven "excellent" ratings since assuming office.
"I thank everyone for appreciating the service I have rendered as Vice President, as presidential adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers' concerns and as head of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council," Binay said.
"Your confidence and faith in what I do inspire me more to give my best for our people," he added.
The SWS also indicated that among the top government officials in the country, Binay remains to have the highest satisfaction rating.
In the same survey, the rating of Senate President Franklin Drilon dropped from "good" in his September score to +25 "moderate".
House of Representatives Speaker Feliciano Belmonte and Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno both remained at the "moderate" territory with net satisfaction scores of +16.
Meanwhile, the net satisfaction ratings of the top three government institutions are as follows: Senate +33 (57-percent satisfied and 24-percent dissatisfied), House of Representatives +26 (51-percent satisfied and 24-percent dissatisfied), and Supreme Court +36 (57-percent satisfied and 22-percent dissatisfied). Of the three institutions, the SC registered the biggest decline at five points.
The December survey used face-to-face interviews with 1,550 adult from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. (Jun Sarmiento/Sunnex)
