TWO traders and their companion were arrested in a drug bust conducted by personnel of Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG) and Police Station 1 at the old City Hall in Bacolod City Sunday night.
Police identified the suspects as Muhammad Faizal alias “Amil”, Saad Mangotara, and Jonathan Jara.
Senior Inspector Richard Fajarito of Police Station 1 said that Faizal and his two companions sold a sachet of illegal substance to a police poseur-buyer for P1,000.
Police recovered from their possession one small and one big plastic sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the P1,000 marked money, and the Toyota Avanza vehicle used by the suspects in transporting the illegal drugs.
Fajarito said Faizal and Mangotara were selling ready-to-wear products at the downtown area.
He added that the suspects were monitored to be involved in illegal drug trade at the downtown area and they were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
Fajarito said the suspects are detained at the station and are facing charges.
In another development, suspected shabu worth P24,000 and illegal firearms were seized in a drug bust conducted by personnel of Candoni Municipal Police Station at Purok Panacman, Barangay East Poblacion Sunday afternoon.
Arrested were Kimber Oliveros and Joseph Ocampo.
Senior Inspector Jayson Mangilimutan of Candoni Municipal Police Station said a police poseur-buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu from Oliveros for P300.
Police recovered from Oliveros’s possession three elongated and one small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P5, 619 in cash, the P300 marked money, and one .9mm caliber with four live ammunition.
Ocampo was found with a defective shotgun and P1,001 in cash.
The police chief said the recovered contraband was turned over to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Crime Laboratory. (MAP)
