Lone robber hits drugstore, takes P17T

A BRANCH of a pharmacy chain in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City was robbed of P27,000 in proceeds by a lone armed man past 4 p.m. last Monday.

The culprit reportedly roamed around Three-Sixty Pharmacy Banilad branch before declaring the holdup.

Based on the footage captured by the establishment’s security camera, the robber is about 5’7” tall, wore a black jacket and white short pants and had a black sling bag.

He had his white helmet on the whole time he was inside the pharmacy.

The suspect went inside the pharmacy at 3:08 p.m. and pretended to buy assorted stuff.

He roamed inside the pharmacy for almost an hour, and then at 4:07 p.m., he approached security guard Bernardo Polistico and pointed a gun at the latter while declaring the robbery.

The robber also took Polistico’s firearm. The robber pushed Polistico toward the counter, and he (robber) allegedly told assistant pharmacists, Kimto Laguna, 29, and Orlando Torrejod, 24, to kneel down.

The robbery suspect reportedly directed Polistico to take all the proceeds inside the teller’s cash register amounting to P10,000.

The robber proceeded to the staff room and took the revolving fund worth P7,000. He also took the mobile phone worth P10,000 owned by one of the pharmacists.

At 4:11 p.m., the robber left the pharmacy by boarding a motorcycle.

Cebu City Intelligence Branch Chief Romeo Santander said his office will also investigate Polistico for allowing the robbery suspect to wear the helmet while inside the pharmacy.

“That is very unusual na maglakaw (roaming) inside while wearing the helmet for an hour. Wala gyud siya sitaha sa guard na hubuon ang helmet (The guard did not bother to call the attention of the suspect),” added Santander.

Polistico is under a security agency, Agilex Agency. Supt. Marvin Sanchez of The Firearms and Explosives Security Group Services said Polistico’s agency is not a registered security agency.
