American fugitive falls

AN AMERICAN fugitive was arrested by joint Philippines and U.S. authorities in the province of Zamboanga del Norte.

Arrested was 70-year-old Donald Lloyd Warren of Paris, Texas, USA, according to Zamboanga Peninsula police information officer Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca.

Warren, who faces criminal charges in his hometown, was arrested around 3 p.m. Tuesday in his temporary residence at Sitio Gampis in the village of Sicayab, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, Huesca said.

He said that among the charges Warren is facing in Harris County, Texas are child indecency and theft. He added that the corresponding warrants were issued in 2001 and 2002 for the arrest of Warren.

Warren’s arrest came after he was tracked down to have fled to the Philippines and is staying in Dipolog City.

Huesca said that Warren was arrested in a joint operation of the police, Bureau of Immigration and U.S. Department of State. (Bong Garcia)
