THE Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) formally installed its new set of officers and board of trustees for the year 2014 last Friday night at the Marco Polo Hotel Davao.

The charging of 2014 officers and members of the board was done by DCCCII past president lawyer Jose C. Sevilla while their installation was conducted by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

The members of the board are: John Y. Gaisano Jr., as its chair, president Antonio T. dela Cruz, executive vice-president and immediate past president Arch. Daniel T. Lim, vice-president for trade and commerce Bonifacio T. Tan, vice president for agribusiness Luciano Frederick P. Puyod III, vice-president for industry Arch. Agatha Ellen S. Members of the board of trustees are: Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Monteverde, Dr. Roberto Puentespina, Antonio M. Ajero, Arturo M. Milan, Annie E. Veloso, and Teresita M. Pascual.

Gaisano, in his welcome message, said the newly installed officers will play a big part in the business community of Davao City in preparing them for the 2015 Asean Integration.

"In the integration, there will be a free flow of products in Asean. It is important for the businesses to be competitive in order to grow. The officers and board of trustees will be the ones to help out in ensuring that the Davao business community is aware and ready for the integration," he said.

Sevilla, for his part, said the officers and trustees must protect the rights of its members, create a business climate that encourages investments and encourages businesses, defend its member and the business community, and continue to observe a democratic system in the chamber.
