Ceres FC eyes comeback in UFL Division 2

CERES-La Salle FC is looking to get back after its heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Laos FC the last time in the Division 2 of the United Football League.

The Transporters will face Dolphins United at 1:45 p.m. this coming weekend at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Ceres failed to launch a decent attack, was held to a scoreless first half until Lexter Maravilla hit the match’s lone goal in the 55th minute. A scoreless draw against Union Internacional Manila days earlier likewise make Ceres a dangerous opponent this time.

The Leo Rey Yanson-managed Ceres, mentored by former national mainstay Ali Bernard Go, includes J Baguiro, Kevin Rob Hartmann, Younousse Yaogo, Jalsor Soriano, Hwa Seo Park, Angelo Marasigan, Thomas Louis Booth, Hyeok Gyu Goo, Samson Olaniyi, Lemuel Unabia, Oladipo Okunaiya, Jayson Panhay;

William Espinosa, Jae Jin Lee, Jason Cordova, Tristan Kit Robles, Joshua Beloya, Hanesin Prince Antony, Kyum Son Cho, Jin Ho Kim, Camelo Tacusalme, Guen Hyeong Park, Yong Chan Son, and keepers Louie Michael Casas and Jae Hun Hyoun.

Meanwhile, Fifa, through its president Joseph Blatter, wrote Philippine Football Federation President Mariano Araneta congratulating the Ceres-La Salle FC for winning last year’s PFF-Smart Club National Championships.

Blatter cited the players, the manager, the technical and medical staff, and all the supporters who were instrumental in the club’s victory. He also thanked Ceres-La Salle FC for the excitement it brought to the football fans and wished the team the best in the future. (HGD)
