NLEx exit for Philippine Arena opens for public

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) temporary exit, which was recently opened for the construction of Iglesia Ni Cristo's (INC) Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan will be opened for public use, the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) said.

Rodrigo Franco, President and COO of the MNTC, said the permanent opening of the said exit will help decongest traffic at the Bocaue exit.

"It will benefit the public, especially those living in Sta. Maria town, San Jose Del Monte City and nearby areas," Franco said.

The proponent of Philippine Arena requested Franco's group to open an exit along the northbound lane of NLEx for temporary use to accommodate hundreds of trucks hauling construction materials to the mega project of INC.

Franco added that it is not the first time that MNTC opened a temporary exit for private developers. Petron and Shell along NLEx were also granted the same privilege during the time of their construction.

He said that the temporary exit of Philippine Arena will soon be a permanent exit.

The Philippine Arena is located at the Ciudad de Victoria compound of the INC at the border of Bocaue and Sta. Maria towns in Bulacan. It is set to be the world's largest dome shaped arena.
