Photo workshop set in Baguio

THE Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation Inc. is inviting camera enthusiasts to a one day photography workshop in this Summer Capital on February 21.

FPPF president Lito Beltran said the workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Igorot House at Camp John Hay.

Registration can be done online at www.photoworldmanila.com or onsite before the workshop. Registration fee is P750.

Workshop topics include Principles of Composition – a discussion of elements of design, lines, shapes, forms, perspective and lighting principles, which aims to make participants aware of artistic designs and principles and Travel Photography – which will tackle photography on moving subjects, how to anticipate actions and how to position in order to capture flowing dances, emotions and movements.

Instructors for the workshop are Amir Alva, a regular photography instructor of the FPPF who founded the AVID photography group and camera club, and George Cabig who worked with Mabuhay Magazine, the in-flight magazine of the Philippine Airlines, and with extensive photography experience through his travels around the country and abroad.

As the workshop is conducted during the Baguio Flower Festival, workshop participants will be required to submit photography works with the Panagbenga events as subjects. Photos submitted will be uploaded to a website where the photos will be critiqued.

Established in 1987, FPPI has been in the forefront of photography activities in the country with the longest photography convention, “PHOTOWORLDASIA” which has been an annual event since FPPI was born. (Carlito Dar)
