Baguio’s Panagbenga 2014 LIVE

BAGUIO CITY -- True to its commitment to bring Philippine festivals closer to thousands of Filipinos in the country and around the world, Sun.Star is streaming live once again this city’s grand flower festival, the Panagbenga.

This year’s celebration marks the 19th year of the annual flower festival celebrated every February in this city. The festival started in 1996 to showcase and reflect the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras.

The term Panagbenga comes from a Kankanaey term that means “season of blooming.”

The festival kicked off last January 1, and Sun.Star Baguio, in partnership with Sun.Star Network Exchange (Sunnex) and Smart Communications Inc., is streaming live two of this year’s highlights -- the street parade tomorrow (February 22) and float parade on Sunday (February 23).

Sun.Star will feed live videos from Baguio’s Session Road, where all participants in both the street and float parade will commence, and the city’s Athletic Bowl where performances will be held. The live streaming will be made possible with Smart’s Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, the latest standard in mobile Internet technology.
