Caucus on Yanson property donation set

THE Bacolod City Mayor's Office and the City Council will hold an executive-legislative caucus on September 28 to discuss the deed of donation of the property offered by Yanson Realty Development Corp. to become the site of the new southbound terminal in Barangay Alijis.

The firm offered to donate 51,406 square meters along the Circumferential Road.

Councilor Ana Marie Palermo said the council deferred action on the deed of donation during their session Wednesday because they intend to thresh out issues regarding the matter during the caucus.

Palermo said they will request the presence of the donor or its representative during the caucus, and then will take up the deed of donation in the next session.

Meanwhile, Councilor Caesar Distrito also suggested that they include the letter-request of Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra during the caucus.

The bishop has sought approval for the use of the portion of the public plaza which the Catholic church owns for the establishment of a trade fair from October 1, 2015 to January 3, 2016.

The area is situated across the San Sebastian Cathedral along Rizal Street, also fronting the La Consolacion College, Bishop’s House, and Queen City Development Bank.
