Press Freedom Run to roll off tomorrow

THE fun-filled sporting activity for media practitioners and workers—Cebu Press Freedom Run—will take center stage tomorrow as part of the celebration of the 2015 Cebu Press Freedom Week.

The running event will feature the men’s and women’s 5-kilometer and 3K and will start and finish at the area fronting City Sports Club.

The organizers are allocating 200 slots for this race. Registration is free and is inclusive of singlet, but it will on a first-come -first-served basis. The registration period will be on race day at 5 a.m to 6 a.m at the City Sports Club Cebu.

The race will start at 6:15 a.m. and will be manned by race director Willie Estepa and members of the Ungo Runners Club.

After the race, the Metafit Boot Camp Challenge will be staged. The media teams from print, radio and television will battle it out in the different fitness tasks.

Justice League

Meanwhile, more than 2,000 runners are going to hit the streets wearing their favorite superhero costumes when the Justice League Run blasts off tomorrow at the SM City Cebu.

The run, licensed by Warner Bros., will have the men’s and women’s 3K, 5K and 10K categories, which will start at SM City Cebu and will go out to South Road Properties before going back to SM City Cebu for the finish.

The runners will be equipped with superhero costumes of their choice; the super heroes are Batman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonderwoman.

The fun run will start at 5 a.m. for the 10K and will be followed by the 5K at 5:15 a.m and the 3K at 5:30 a.m.
