Cunanan to face Senate probe today

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Former Technology Resource Center (TRC) director-general Dennis Cunanan will testify Thursday before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee regarding the pork barrel scam.

Cunanan, who hails from Magalang town in Pampanga, said he is now ready to face and be grilled by several senators during this morning’s investigation which include Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Grace Poe, Bam Aquino, and Alan Peter Cayetano.

Cayetano said Cunanan should be subjected to cross examination as the Senate "will not only rely" on his testimony regarding the pork barrel scam.

Earlier, Cunanan disclosed that he "is set to reveal all his knowledge on the pork barrel scam where the Priority Development Fund (PDAF) of some lawmakers were allegedly channeled through the TRC for non-government Organizations linked to Janet Lim Napoles" during the initial investigation of the Blue Ribbon committee chaired by Senator Teofisto Guingona III.

Meanwhile, Senator Jinggoy Estrada said he will again opt out of the hearing where Cunanan is also expected to tell all in relation to the pork barrel scam.

"My lawyers don't want me to attend. They want me to be consistent in not appearing in the hearing," he said.

Estrada said he will instead avail of the privilege hour in the Senate next week to answer the accusations of Cunanan. (with Sunnex)
