THE City Government through the City Health Office is undertaking the necessary preparations for the World Tuberculosis (TB) Day observance in Zamboanga City.
City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos said the activities include the “Marcha Contra TB” (March against TB) on Monday, March 24.
The Worth TB Day aims to increase public awareness about the global epidemic of TB and efforts to eliminate the disease.
Agbulos said the “March against TB” will start from the gymnasium of the Western Mindanao State University to the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex where anti-TB services will be held.
Among the services that will be conducted are free consultations, free X-ray, and sputum examination, said Agbulos.
He said the other testings will include Human Immuno Virus (HIV) because HIV is closely related with TB disease.
He said this year’s World TB Day observance in anchored on the theme “Privini el TB na communidad (Prevent TB cases in the community).” (Bong Garcia)
