Almost 100,000 job vacancies posted in state job portal

AS THE end of the graduation season nears, close to 100,000 job vacancies are currently posted at the government's web-based job matching portal, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).

In a statement, Dole Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz disclosed that Phil-JobNet has a list of vacancies reaching 95,935 as of March 28, Friday.

Topping the list of job vacancies are sales clerk (4,644); call center agent (4,188); service crew (3,056); production worker / factory worker (2,644); cashier (2,328); hotel housekeeping attendant (2,094); skilled worker / pisci-culture (2,000); merchandiser (1,931); promo salesperson (1,921); and salesman (1,634).

Also looking for qualified applicants are barista (1,456); customer service assistant (1,114); casino dealer (1,100); company driver (1,046); hairdresser (1,020); hair stylist (1,011); make-up artist (1,000); and make-up artist for government (1,000).

“Through the Phil-JobNet, the Dole works to make it easy and fast for jobseekers to find jobs that fit their qualifications, interests, and career inclinations,” Baldoz said.

The number of job vacancies comes amid the expected entry of hundreds of thousands of graduating students nationwide. (HDT/Sunnex)
