MASANTOL -- This town received P1 million for the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig Para sa Lahat (Salintubig) Program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The check was awarded to Mayor Danilo Guintu by DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Favia, who was assisted by Cluster Team Leader/LGOO VI Rufino Abalos and MLGOO Delilia De Leon.
According to Favia, Masantol is the second recipient of the Salintubig Program in Pampanga.
She also encouraged the municipality to continue its effort towards the betterment of the lives of this town's residents.
Guintu, for his part, was grateful for the grant given by the DILG to the local government unit.
He said the program will provide adequate water supply facilities and services. It also brings clean and safe water to the community particularly residents in the town’s coastal area, he said.
The Local Water Utilities Administration has allocated P1.7-million as counterpart fund to the program. The grant will benefit more or less 300 families from coastal barangays of Puti and San Agustin.
