Council urged to adopt watersheds action plan

THE Watershed Management Council has asked the 17th City Council to adopt the Talomo-Lipadas and Panigan-Tamugan Watersheds Action Plan (2013-2018) and its integration into the Watershed Management Council Plan.

The resolution has been included in the roster of items to be approved on first reading during the regular session today, Tuesday.

Based on a copy of the resolution, the five-year plan consists the "proposals that cut across the four watersheds in the city, watershed-specific projects, and joint calls for good governance and regulation."

It said the watershed plan was approved by those who live within and benefit from the sustainable management of the Talomo-Lipadas and Tamugan-Panigan watersheds.

The council is set to formulate plans for every watershed covered by the Davao City Watershed Proetction, Conservation and Management Ordinance after the completion of the management framework, the report reads.

The funds for the activities during its five-year implementation period will be sourced out from the city's resources. (ANC)
