THE alleged mastermind of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam Janet Lim-Napoles on Tuesday signed a waiver to have an endometrial biopsy examination.
Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) director Dr. Ishmael Peralta said the waiver would allow Napoles' doctor to conduct a biopsy procedure on her even though her blood sugar is on a high level.
The test was approved by Napoles' endocronologist, the doctor who monitors her complication in diabetes.
Peralta said the biopsy, which seeks to get a sample of a small tissue along the lining of her uterus, will determine if the tumor found in Napoles' uterus was malignant or benign.
The endometrial biopsy will only take for 15 minutes but the result might take three days.
Peralta on Monday said Napoles would undergo biopsy as an additional test before proceeding to the proper operation for the treatment of her uterine myoma.
After complaining massive abdominal pain and menstrual bleeding, on March 26, doctors from the Philippine National Police General Hospital (PNP-GH) found out that Napoles has a mass in the uterus.
On March 31, Napoles was transferred from Laguna to OsMak after the Makati court has allowed her to undergo surgery and hospitalization.
