Council to hold hearing on complaints vs bizman

TWO City Council will hold a hearing on Thursday on the complaint filed by councilmen against Metro Safari Resort owner Francis Rey Cabuga for constructing a swimming pool and two-storey building without permits in Barangay Punta Taytay, Bacolod City.

The complainants, councilman Glen Mark Pacheo and former councilwoman Angela Daguno, said the construction started without the required building permit and environmental compliance certificate (ECC), and violated the condition for right-of-way provision.

Cabuga had written former Alangilan village chief Degie Tanista in June 11, 2013 informing that he plans to put up a resort with a zoo, clubhouse, swimming pool, camping site, playground, rentable cottages and picnic huts as he wants to contribute to the tourism industry of Bacolod.

Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairman of the City Council Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government and Committee on Environment and Ecology, said the hearing will determine the veracity and legality of the issue.

The issue will be heard by the committees on laws, ordinances and good government, environment and ecology, and will be attended by concerned agencies.
