Capitol distributes financial assistance to dengue patients

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Due to the rising number of dengue cases in the province, the provincial government of Pampanga headed by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda recently distributed financial assistance to dengue patients.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer Angelina Blanco together with Provincial Health Officer Dr. Marcelo Jaochico and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Elizabeth Baybayan handed the P2,000 worth of financial assistance each to the 33 dengue patients admitted at the Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital.

Resolution No. 3-S-2015 unanimously approved by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council allows the provincial government to extend financial assistance to dengue patients with positive dengue test results admitted in public hospitals in the amount of P2,000.

Records from the Provincial Health Office show that Pampanga has 3,252 dengue cases from January to September 19 of this year. This is 68 percent higher compared to the 1,934 cases in the same period of 2014.

Blanco said officials and personnel from the provincial government will roam the public hospitals to hand the assistance to all dengue patients.

Joachico, for his part, assured the public that provincial and district hospitals in Pampanga are ready to accept and manage patients suffering from dengue. (Liezel Cayanan/Pampanga PIO)
