COMING up on Friday, April 25, is the launching of Erma Cuizon's books entitled Twilight in Misamis, Josefa Borromeo Capistrano's Guerilla Days and Woman, Collection of Essays. Venue is the Cathedral Museum of Cebu, 6 p.m. Erma says that the first book "is about the kind of women behind the men in the country during a fight for its life, of women who you hardly heard of nor remember." The other book is a collection of essays on women published in Erma's Sun.Star columns.

Ayala Center Cebu marked the days leading to the Holy Week with an exhibit of the Sorrowful Mysteries called The Journey Towards Lenten Season.Venue was its new chapel at the 4th level of the expansion wing. His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal presided during the opening day blessing.

The Singapore Tourism Board under Sherina Chan (outgoing area director-Phil. & Brunei) recently announced its new marketing campaign for the Philippines during an update at the Radisson Blu Hotel. Designed with the Filipino visitors in mind, the campaign is headlined "Singapore, See where the world is heading." Primary aim is to entice Filipinos to experience the pulse of the world in Singapore because it offers various innovative and world-class experiences. The marketing come-on is also meant to underscore Singapore's ever changing landscape as well as to increase awareness of the new developments in and around the city.

Among the newer attractions are the River Safari which is Asia's first and only river-themed wildlife park; and the Gardens by the Bay which feature more than 500,000 plants from over 2,200 species.

For its 20th anniversary celebration, Aboitizland hosted a media lunch at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel. The message given during the gathering was loud and clear: the real estate company which was launched in 1994 has completed "20 years of Nurturing Communities" and "as it expands nationally and takes more ambitious projects, Aboitizland maintains its position in Cebu as the trusted, homegrown real estate developer, creating enduring and nurturing communities." Frontliners during the affair were Aboitizland president and chief executive officer (CEO) Andoni Aboitiz and SVP-Operations Pia Mantecon.

All roads led to 32 Sanson during the launching of Rockwell Land's first project in Cebu, a residential community designed by Archt. Ed Gallego in a 3.2 hectare property in Lahug. It features 5 clusters of low-rise condominium buildings with first- class amenities. Center of attention during the party was the 2-bedroom model unit with interiors done by Los Angeles-based interior design consultant Butch Valdez and colleague Alice Erfe.

Rockwell Land top execs at the party were president Tong Padilla, SVP Valerie Soliven, AVP Roshele Moreno, marketing manager Vienn Tionglico and 32 Sanson GM Paolo Reyes.

Very much around too were Josephine Aboitiz Booth (she was the former property owner), her brother Don Luis Aboitiz and wife Annie.
