THE sky's bright and the sea was blue. That was a perfect timing for Sun.Star Davao to set off a quick escape to the beach to celebrate the Labor Day on May 1, 2014.
Making the day even more special, Sun.Star employees were joined by their president, Gina Garcia-Atienza, and marketing and sales consultant Tita Avila Caballes who had flown in from Cebu and made the time out of their busy schedules to be present in the event.
Off they went to Isla Reta in Talicud, Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) where they were greeted by a crytal blue sea, leaving everybody itching to jump straight in.
There, employees were treated to a sumptuous lunch by the beach. Some of the foods were grilled tilapia, bangus, kinilaw, and the star of every celebration, lechon.
Fun games were also done, spearheaded by the Human Resource supervisor Vic Purgatorio, where everybody's endurance, patience, and trust towards one another was tested. Three teams competed in three games, but Bong's Angels had emerged the winners against the other two teams. Each team took home cash prizes.
After the games, all of them couldn't help but jump again into the sea to cool down and take the edge off the scorching summer heat.
The workers left the island past 3 p.m. and headed back to the city.
