Comelec: No biometrics, no voting in 2016

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has called on all voters to seek and accomplish biometrics data so they can vote in the May 2016 elections.

Iloilo City Election Registrar Reiner Layson said they are expecting an additional 10,000 to 20,000 voters who must register with the Comelec on top of some 20,000 who have no or incomplete biometric data.

The biometrics registration of voters will start from May 6, 2014 to October 31, 2015. Registration will start from Sundays to Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Comelec office in Iloilo City has transferred to the vacated office of the Municipal Trial Court Branch 1 to 4 located at the second floor of the city’s terminal market building.
