A JOINT anti-narcotics operations led to the arrest of 13 persons and a haul of more than P5 million worth of illegal drugs in separate locations in Bohol last Tuesday.
Lawyer Augusto Eric Isidoro, assistant director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7, said that operatives of the NBI and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided drug dens in Bohol Province.
Isidoro said that it is possible that the suspects were involved in previous shooting incidents related to the illegal drugs trade in the province.
A search warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Reynaldo Alhambra authorized the raids that occurred simultaneously in Panglao Island and Tagbilaran City.
The joint team seized 487.3 grams of suspected shabu, which reportedly has a street value of P5,360,000. Authorities also confiscated two .9mm pistols, airgun, airsoft and gun replicas.
The team arrested Luis Jabas, Jabbar and Jalil Cadar, Reino Ariel, Rey Francis John Aray, Lord Alcamo, Michael Dan Barol, Dominick Manlangit, Roy Gordillo, Jimwil Basalu, Carlito Escuadro, Frilon Osmil and Edwin Lauriano.
The team first collared Jabas in Barangay Tawala, Panglao Island.
They later raided a village in Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City where they caught the Cadar brothers.
In another place in Taloto, the NBI and PDEA barged into a den where they arrested 10 more persons.
The target of the authorities, a suspect living in Barangay Cogon, Tagbiliran City, however was not caught.
