P100M in illegal drugs seized in Caloocan

POLICE and anti-narcotics agents confiscated on Wednesday P100 million worth of illegal drugs at a residential area in Barangay Sta. Monica, Caloocan City.

Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Organized Task Force spokesperson Roque Merdeguia said police assets scheduled a meeting around 10 p.m. Wednesday with "Mikko," an alleged member of a drug syndicate operating in Vista Verde Subdivision.

“Subalit naghinala ang target na isang entrapment ang kanyang napasok na transaction kaya napilitan itong tumakas,” he said.

Merdeguia said the suspect abandoned his vehicle, a Toyota Avanza, where 20 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu, was recovered.

“Sa profile ng drogang nakumpiska, maihahambing ito sa mga naipupuslit na mga finished products mula sa ibang bansa particular na ang China through smuggling activity,” AIDSOTF chief Antonio Gardiola said.

Manhunt operation against the drug suspect is ongoing. (Sunnex)
