Guv discusses Capitol’s health programs to dialysis patients

LUBAO -- Governor Lilia Pineda gathered on Thursday 554 dialysis patients from the second district of Pampanga to discuss the health programs of the provincial government and distribute food and non-food assistance.

In her speech, Pineda said that she’s aware of the financial burdens of patients undergoing treatment and encouraged them to have their regular check-up together with their family members at the provincial and district hospitals to prevent them from having the same disease.

“Kung atin kayu o deng kamag-anak yung araramdaman, agad kayung munta at palawe kareng ospital ning kapitolyu. Ali tamu pu paburen na mika-cancer at dialysis la pa deng kamag-anak o kapamilya tamu (If you feel ill, go immediately to our government hospitals and don’t let your relatives have cancer or undergo dialysis),” the governor said.

The governor also assured the patients that the Capitol will provide assistance once their 90 haemodialysis sessions from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) were used to ease their financial burden.

Pineda said the Capitol is allotting millions of pesos for health services to ensure that the health care needs of every Kapampangans are being met.

According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Officer Elizabeth Baybayan, the gathering of the dialysis patients is a regular program of the governor.

“Ang mga programs ni guv maintained and sustained. Gusto niya laging inaalam kung ano ‘yung tulong na pwedeng ibigay sa mga Kapampangan,” said Baybayan.

Baybayan said the governor will go around the province and gather other patients to discuss other provincial government programs.

Also present during the distribution were Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Angie Blanco, provincial social workers and other local officials. (Liezel Cayanan/Pampanga PIO)
