THE week-long conduct of Brigada Eskwela officially opened in Baguio City at the City Hall Monday.
"The DepEd is recognizing the partnership that we have with the city government of Baguio as demonstrated by the attendance in a very early launching program this morning," Baguio City Division head Francis Cesar Bringas said referring to the show of force of city officials during the launching.
"We hope to continue to work together for the development of our schools and improvement of the quality of education in the division and the city of Baguio," he added.
The launching of this year's Brigada Eskwela also simultaneously opened the school caravans of public schools in the city.
Aside from volunteerism among teachers, parents, students and other stakeholders, Bringas highlighted the Department of Education along with its partners will work on "ensuring disaster preparedness and safety in schools."
"We want our schools to be ready in case disasters will happen," he stressed specifying most schools in the city are located in geohazard areas.
Also, the Baguio City Police Office ensured active participation in the Brigada.
"I-mamaximize natin lahat ng personnel natin," said Police Inspector Katelyn Awingan adding the 10 stations in the city have adopted two schools each.
The DepEd in collaboration with the BCPO will continue to work on preparations for the opening of classes of public schools June 2 paying attention especially on the expected heavy traffic on that day.
