Compac to be put up in 2 Bacolod villages

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will put up a Community Police Assistance Center (Compac) at Abada-Escay relocation site at Barangay Vista Alegre and at Barangay Alangilan.

BCPO officer-in-charge Sr. Supt. Larry Decena said Friday that eight personnel from Bacolod City Public Safety Company (BCPSC) will be assigned to Abada-Escay Compac while personnel from Police Station 5 (PS5) will be assigned to the Compac in Barangay Alangilan.

BCPO records show that several crime incidents were recorded in the area of Abada-Escay, where drug suspects were also arrested.

Personnel assigned in the area will ensure immediate police response, he said.

Decena said that Abada-Escay used to be covered by Police Station 7 based in Barangay Mansilingan. However, the area is too far from the police station that it was transferred to the jurisdiction of Police Station 5 at Barangay Granada.

rIn order to resolve the conflict, Decena said the BCPSC has been assigned to secure the area, including the filing of cases against suspects.

He added that since PS5 also covers a wide area, a Compac at Barangay Alangilan will be established for immediate police response.

Decena said the police officers will be augmented by force multipliers in the villages.
