ACTOR Jake Cuenca shared his happiness after meeting lady love, Filipino Australian professional model Chanel Olive Thomas.
"(We are) good and sobrang saya. Something different kasi parang ang tagal ko nang hindi nagkakaroon ng non-showbiz relationship, kaya nakakatuwa. May sarili kaming mundo and I value that. Inaalagaan ko talaga yun," he said in a Cinema News interview.
Cuenca surprised his fans when he posted intimate photos with Thomas in April, fueling speculation that he's already in a relationship with the model.
According to reports, the actor met Thomas in a common friend's party and they hit it off immediately.
Amid their busy schedules, they make sure that time and distance wouldn't affect the relationship.
"Naninibago siya at hindi madali para sa kanya, pero katulad nga ng sinabi ko dati, pag gusto, maraming paraan at kung ayaw, maraming dahilan. So, ginagawan ko talaga siya ng oras," he said.
The "Ikaw Lamang" actor also reacted on comments of some netizens that Thomas resembles actress Jessy Mendiola, whom he courted during their "Maria Mercedes" days.
Jake said his girlfriend and Mendiola are very different from each other.
"Na-gets ko yung punto ng tao pag sinasabi na kamukha ni Jessy but sobrang iba sila. Different personalities and she's Australian, hindi marunong mag-Tagalog. She's very different from Jessy. Kung ganun, sana pinursue ko na lang si Jessy," he said.
Mendiola, for her part, said that she does not look like Thomas.
"Parang malayo naman kasi napaka model-like nung girlfriend niya. Nakita ko siya sa Instagram and maganda siya," she said.
The actress added: "Sobrang happy ako para sa kanya and ang ganda ng girlfriend niya. Nakikita ko yung pictures nila and mukha naman silang happy, kaya okay yun."
Now that Cuenca has already found a girlfriend, Jessy also confirmed that she's going out with a non-showbiz guy.
She was mum on the identity of her foreign suitor but said that they're in the getting-to-know-you stage.
"Like ko siya, like niya ako, ganun. Hindi naman ibig sabihin na kapag like mo, kayo na. Pwede naman na like nyo lang yung isa't isa. Sobrang mabait siya and non-showbiz. Mas maganda at tahimik. Basta masaya naman ang puso ko," Jessy said.
