PANASIATIC Call Centers site director Siony Hijara said they will start an employment caravan this week in the different barangays in Bacolod City.
Hijara said they also conducted an employment caravan in southern Negros two weeks ago in partnership with the Office of the Governor through the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology.
They visited the Fifth District of Negros Occidental, including Himamaylan City, and towns of Hinigaran, Moises Padilla, Binalbagan and La Castellana.
Hijara said they were able to gather hundreds of applicants. There are applicants who they feel are ready to go through the recruitment process while there are those who they feel should attend a call center course at NOLITC.
They signed a memorandum of agreement with Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. last Wednesday because they are sponsoring scholarship grants for applicants who need more training to qualify for the call center job, she said.
In Bacolod, the employment caravan will start this week as they will go aggressive in looking for potential workers in the city, Hijara said.
Starting Wednesday, they will visit two barangays everyday since they need a minimum of 100 people every week now that they are opening the second center, she said.
Hijara said she hopes that before the end of the year, they could hire 1,000 to 2,000 employees because they will need 4,000 employees for the second center.
The 4,000 employees could probably be realized in two to three years, she said.
“This is a very ambitious goal that is why we are working so hard to hire employees up to the barangay level not only within Bacolod but also outside the city,” Hijara said.
She added that they are spending for people to go to school or attend courses to make sure they qualify.
After entering into a partnership with NOLITC, they are also finalizing their agreements with other training centers, she said.
