Cobra partners with AXN to find Filipino first urban hero

IN AN extraordinary partnership to find heroes among ordinary men and women, the region’s premier sports and action channel, AXN Asia, and the country’s number one energy drink, Cobra, partnered up to find the first set of Filipino AXN Urban Heroes.

True to the AXN nature of in-your-face action and adventure and powered by the warrior spirit of Cobra Energy Drink, male and female participants went through five grueling obstacle courses and challenges that tested their perseverance, energy, and power.

From an arduous Parkour course, to an exacting obstacle course, participants persevered through each section before reaching The Free Fall challenge. In a final burst of power and energy, the participants still had to prevail over two final challenges before taking the crown: the Cobra Giant Swing and the AXN Flying Slamball.

The winners, Jonathan Ruz and Maria Eucelia Manatad, emerged victorious, becoming Urban Heroes to heroes with part of their prizes donated to the Hero Foundation.

The Hero Foundation provides educational assistance to dependents of Filipino soldiers killed in action or those incapacitated due to combat or participation in disaster and rescue and relief operations.

Cobra, a long-time supporter of the Filipinos’ warrior heart, was thrilled about the message that AXN Urban Hero is sending out.

Dan Ong, Cobra senior brand manager, said: “It’s an exciting project simply because it reflects what our brand believes in: perseverance, energy, power, and most of all, the heart of a warrior. What makes this initiative unique is that the winner isn’t just a hero for himself but also for others, especially for the Hero Foundation, which supports families of those who fought so gallantly for our country. That kind of impact is truly what makes one an Urban Hero powered by Cobra.” (PR)
