Sarah Lahbati unfazed by criticisms

ACTRESS Sarah Lahbati shrugged off criticisms about keeping her lovechild with actor Richard Gutierrez a secret.

"I do not care about the hate tweets and all the 'poor baby bakit ganito, ganyan.' I just want to make it clear to you that from day one, we took care of him, loved him, protected him and gave him everything, until now," she posted on Instagram.

Lahbati said they "never denied" the baby and just wanted to keep their privacy.

"We just wanted to keep our privacy. Oh well, I love my family and I'm extremely happy and blessed that we are able to finally share our life with everyone," she said.

In the pilot episode of "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez" on E! channel on Sunday, Richard confessed that he had fathered a son with Lahbati. The couple named him, Zion.

The actor said they found out about Lahbati's pregnancy while vacationing in Paris, France and eventually decided to keep silence about the baby.

"We didn't want to make Sarah's pregnancy a tabloid circus. We get to share baby Zion to everyone with our own terms," he said.

Meanwhile, Richard's older sister, television host Ruffa Gutierrez, said she is happy that her younger brother and his girlfriend finally admitted to having a baby.

She shared that the showbiz couple became emotional while watching the revelation on television.

"Richard is a proud father! Congratulations Chard and Sarah! It is finally out in the open! Yay, Sarah is crying now."

The couple celebrated their second anniversary last weekend.(Sunnex)
