‘Kurudo’ man arrested for robbery

CAMP OLIVAS -- A "kurudo" man or "taong grasa" was arrested over the weekend after he robbed a businessman in Barangay San Agustin, Candaba, Pampanga.

In a belated report here, Senior Superintendent Marlon Madrid, officer-in-charge of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO), identified the arrested suspect as Dennis Cruz Sagum, 34, alias Kurudo, and a resident of the said barangay.

Madrid said the suspect allegedly robbed the house of Willy Dela Cruz, a businessman, around 2 a.m. Saturday.

However, the victim's wife Marilou, who woke-up and while on her way to their comfort room saw the suspect, the report said.

Suspicious about the "Kurudo" man, Marilou checked their valuables and discovered that their jewelries amounting to P700,000, a digicam and two cellular phones were missing.

This prompted her to seek assistance from barangay officials and police, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect. (Ric Sapnu)
