Guv tells PWDs: Handicap not a barrier to success

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda on Tuesday told especially challenged students and their parents that physical handicaps are not barriers to success or getting good education.

The governor led Capitol officials in distributing educational assistance to some 134 persons with disabilities (PWDs) at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here, where each of the special students received P2,500 for school expenses this year.

The governor became a bit emotional when she was serenaded and hugged by the special children from across Pampanga's four districts, expressing how they love the mother of the province.

The governor, assisted by Board Members Dinan Labung, Rosve Henson, Ric Yabut, Tonton Torres, Jun Dimson and Cherry Manalo, also awarded certificates and incentives to PWDs who topped the National Paralympics in Manila recently.
