Matina IT Park's 1st building set for completion in July

THE first of three buildings at Matina IT Park, touted as the biggest IT Park in Mindanao, on McArthur Highway in Matina, Davao City is set for completion next month.

Based on its project description emailed to Sun.Star Davao, the first edifice has a total area of 7,423 square meters, with a project cost amounting to around P100 million.

The construction of the first phase began middle of last year.

All three buildings will have four levels, with a combined lease area of 19,790 square meters.

But Christian Cambaya, investment and promotion staff of the Davao City Investment Promotions Center (DCIPC), said Plaza De Luisa Development, Inc., developer of the Matina IT Park, can only proceed with the constructions of the other two IT buildings depending on the viability of the first building.

Matina IT Park is already the third project developed by the company, following the two edifices being occupied by Sutherland Global Services on Jacinto Extension and Quirino Avenue, this city.

Last year, the IT park received an accreditation from Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza), which means it can enjoy from tax holidays for three years, business sales tax, and real property tax.

Once completed, the Matina IT Park will be joining Lanang Business Park, Felcris IT Park, Pink Walters IT Building, Ambiente Teleservices, and HAI Global Services with Peza accreditations.

This development is also seen to boost the City Government's thrust on generating more job opportunities for Dabawenyos who are joining the IT-BPO talent pool.

"The project will provide employment opportunities comprising direct employment and indirect personnel to include construction workers and call center agents," its project description said.
