Househelp faces slay try charges

CHARGES were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against a houseboy for trying to rob and kill his Korean employer at the latter’s residence at Apollo St., Doña Vicenta Subdivision, in Davao City on May 28.

Facing robbery with frustrated homicide is Ryan Fabila Santos, 31, who hails from Purok 5, Bugac, Barangay Ilang. He was charged after he tried to rob and kill his Korean employer identified as Sungmo Jung, 40.

Investigation of the San Pedro police revealed that the incident took place around 8:45 a.m. The suspect was observed to be under the influence of liquor when he knocked on the door of the room of his employer and demanded some cash. The victim, however, refused to do so.

This irked the suspect who then stabbed Jung in different parts of his body before going inside his room to find money or anything valuable to take.

The suspect found nothing of his interest and left the area while the victim was rushed to the Davao Doctor's Hospital.

Recovered from the crime scene was one kitchen knife measuring around 11 inches and a bloodied plastic hand gloves.

Later that day, Santos turned himself in to the Bunawan police who endorsed him to the San Pedro police.

He is currently detained at the San Pedro police station while the recovered weapon from the crime scene will be used as evidence against the suspect in court. (RSA)
