MICE 2014 reels off

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Philippine Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions/Events or MICE Conference 2014 reeled off at this Freeport on Wednesday.

Organized by the Tourism Promotions Board in partnership with MICE Philippines and Philippine Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers, the four-day conference will have plenary discussions and lectures about industry-specific topics on meetings, incentive travel, and exhibitions marketing as well as leadership, innovation, business and technology, association management, food, creativity, communication, and personal and organizational development.

The Association of South East Asian Nations integration and its effect on the region’s economy will also be highlighted during the conference, which will be held at the Fontana Convention Center until Saturday, June 7.

Clark Development Corporation president Arthur Tugade said "the four-day event serves as a platform by which our tourism stakeholders learn from experts new trends, approaches, methods and insights as well as draw inspiration and energy from their message to reach and fulfill new heights for the Philippine MICE and Tourism Industry."

Some 600 participants representing airlines, hotels, resorts, convention centers, destination management companies, incentive planners, event organizers/planners, professional congress/exhibitor organizers, MICE venues, local government units and media are expected to attend the event which carries the theme “MICE in 4D (defining passions, developing minds, defying limits, designing the future).”

MICE 2014 will also gather about 40 international buyers coming from Australia, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and Russia and 10 local corporate buyers primarily for a one-day buyer-seller business exchange. (Ashley Jesther D. Dela Peña)
