2 station chiefs told to explain failure to man assistance desks

TWO station chiefs of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) were directed to submit their written explanations for failure to assign personnel to man the assistance desks in schools within their areas of jurisdiction.

Senior Superintendent Larry Decena, officer-in-charge of BCPO, said on Wednesday he issued the directive to Chief Inspector Placido Gentoleo, chief of Police Station 6, and Senior Inspector Edgar Gulmatico, chief of Police Station 3.

On Tuesday, Decena personally checked all the police assistance desks to ensure the presence of police in schools.

The two station chiefs were given 72 hours to submit their written explanations, he said.

Decena noted that before the opening of classes, he already directed all the station chiefs to assign two police personnel in every police assistance desk.

He said police officers should man the assistance desks from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to ensure the safety of students.

Policemen assigned in police assistance desks are not allowed to leave the area while classes are going on, Decena added. (MAP)
