Maricar Reyes opens up about married life WITH Richard Poon

ACTRESS Maricar Reyes said she is still adjusting to married life with her husband, crooner Richard Poon.

The showbiz couple will mark their first wedding anniversary on Monday, June 9, after exchanging vows in a private Christian ceremony in Alabang, Muntinlupa last year.

According to Maricar, although they have been living together as husband and wife for almost a year now, she is still discovering a lot of things about her partner. She is also learning to open up more.

"Confront every small thing, 'yun ang natutunan ko talaga sa kanya. Kasi ako if there's a problem, I usually run from it or mananahimik na lang ako. But with him I learned that even with small things you need to say or confront it. Ayusin ninyo," Maricar said in a recent interview.

When asked about her discoveries in Richard as a husband, the Kapamilya actress recalled how she was left baffled with small things, like how different they squeeze the toothpaste tube.

"It took a while for me to realize. Kasi diba if you live alone, you don't realize those things. When I brush my teeth in the morning bakit ganun 'yung toothpaste. Oo nga pala, he's different from me. There's so many things talaga," she said.

But Maricar beamed that this is all part of married life. They even argue on things but they make it a point to settle everything before going to sleep.

"Marrying matures you because you really have to consider the other person. Marrying really exposes how selfish you are or how you think of the other person more than yourself," she said.

When asked on baby plans, the television actress revealed they decided to postpone her pregnancy and just enjoy their first year as married couple.

She is not planning to get pregnant anytime soon as she's still busy taping the newest primetime series "Sana Bukas pa ang Kahapon" opposite Paulo Avelino, Bea Alonzo and Albert Martinez.

Maricar said she does not plan to tape with a baby bump, but if God will bless them after the series, she will definitely focus on motherhood.

"When we got married, we planned na at least a year na kaming dalawa muna. After na lang ng show. Ayoko mag taping na buntis, so saka na. (But if that time comes) definitely. I want to focus being a mom," she ended. (Sunnex)
