Students get school supplies from Sta. Rita police chief

STA. RITA -- Indigent elementary students and 20 students with disabilities received school supplies from Santa Rita Police chief Michael Masangkay as part of the local police's community development program.

Masangkay has been doing the distribution to help local school children with their supply needs every opening of the school year.

The event dubbed “Mga Anghel ng Kinabukasan, Kayo ay Aming Aalagaan at Poproteksyonan” is also part of the child-friendly programs incorporated in the local police activities here.

The distribution was led by Masangkay at the covered court of Barangay San Jose. The beneficiaries of this year’s activity were the indigent Grade 1 to Grade 6 students from the different public schools in the town.

Grateful smiles can be seen on the faces of the children and their parents as they received the complete set of school supplies given to them by the police officer who vowed to serve and protect them through different "child-friendly activities" he organizes.

A feeding program soon followed the activity sponsored by Sta. Rita Mayor Yolanda Pineda.

"Ito po ay aming handog sa mga kabataan upang makatulong sa kanilang pag-aaral. Atin po silang alagaan nang sa gayon ay maging mabuti silang mamamayan ng ating bayan," Msangkay said during the event.

Masangkay said that the event aims to start the new school year right for indigent beneficiaries.
