Tarlac, NE towns to experience power interruption on June 10

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Mexico (Pampanga-based National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Central Luzon office announced yesterday that some parts of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija will experience a power interruption from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP Central Luzon Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer, said in statement to Sun.Star Pampanga that the areas to be affected by the whole day power interruption are Concepcion, La Paz, Bamban and Capas in Tarlac, and Zaragoza in Nueva Ecija.

The affected distribution utility, he added, will be the Tarlac II Electric Cooperative Inc. or Tarelco II.

Vidal said that the power interruption will facilitate the annual preventive maintenance and testing of Concepcion Substation's Transformer 1 and its associated power equipment.

He furthered that normal operations will immediately resume after work completion. NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.

Vidal also noted that specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are determined by the particular distribution utility (DU) like Tarelco II, unless the activity affects the entire franchise area. The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users. (Marionne I. Cayanan)
